Cleaning hacks making life simpler!!! We all need simpler, less time consuming, less expensive….
Microwaves clean up in a snap when you follow this tip!
-
-
In a microwave safe bowl or large mug, mix ¼ cup of vinegar or lemon juice, with 1 cup water.
-
Place in the microwave. Cook on high to reach a boil. Caution: Be very careful not splash yourself with the hot liquid!

Carefully, remove bowl or mug from microwave using oven mitts. Then simply wipe down your microwave with a dampened paper towel.
-
The steam from these mixtures loosens all of the stuck on food particles.
-
The result is a microwave that is very easy to wipe down!
Bonus tip: Pour out your heated liquid in the kitchen sink with a few ice cubes and run the disposal at the same time. This will sharpen the blades and freshen your disposal!
Stainless steel appliances
If you have stainless steel appliances, then you probably battle fingerprints on a daily basis, especially if you have children!
To remove fingerprints from and clean stainless steel,
-
soak a soft cloth or paper towel with undiluted vinegar.
-
Wipe down appliance, going the same direction as the grain.
-
Do not leave wet.
-
Wipe dry.
-
🙂 Easy-peasy lemon squeezy!
Coffee pots

-
Another, rather well known tip for using vinegar is as a descaler for the coffee pot. This works for most coffee makers, but check your owner’s manual first. Simply fill the reservoir with white distilled vinegar and run a cycle on your machine. Then fill with plain water, and run again, to rinse.

In one of my coffee machines, we had to put 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water (example: 1 cup of vinegar to 3 cups of water.)
-
This will also help some coffee makers to brew faster! (Always a good thing!)

Dishwasher

When it comes to the dishwasher, I only have one recommendation, that you avoid using rinse aids. You know the ones that help your dishes dry better? They actually work by leaving a chemical film over the surface of your dishes- dishes on which you serve hot food and cook at high temperatures. Not to mention acidic foods that could potentially react with various chemicals. I’d rather not take the risk.

Cleaning hacks making life simpler? How about this…Frequently, I have this problem due to being easily distracted…
Stuck on Mess?!
Baking soda is one of my favorite multi-purpose ingredients!
-
For stuck on messes in pots and pans, sprinkle baking soda directly on the area you’re scrubbing. It won’t scratch your pan or dish, and essentially acts like micro scrubbers.
-
This is also how I get my stainless steel sink sparkling clean! I drip some liquid dish soap in the sink and sprinkle baking soda over it, and using a kitchen scrubber I remove every last stain from my sink with little effort!
I believe simpler is better. By purchasing a few versatile items you can have a clean kitchen without the chemicals. It’s a clean you can feel good about!
